JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court has decided to postpone the reading of verdict on Izedrik Emir Moeis, PDI-P lawmaker and graft defendant, in graft case of the Tarahan Steam Power (PLTU) project due to illness.
Panel of judges is forced to postpone the verdict trial after Emir Moeis got a heart attack this morning and then brought up to Harapan Kita Hospital to get medical treatment. The verdict trial is then re-scheduled to Monday next week (April 7).
The prosecutor team from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) demands the court to drop 4.5 years jail term to Emir. KPK prosecutor team also charged Emir to pay 250 million in fines.
Emir Moeis had been named as suspect in the graft case on Tarahan power plant project for allegedly receiving US$357,000 from Alstom Power Inc (US) and Marubeni Inc (Japan) in helping the companies to win the tender project of the PLTU Tarahan back in 2004. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
