JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Elvira Devinamira Wirayanti, 20th, was on Wednesday night (Jan 29) crowned as Puteri Indonesia 2014 and will compete in the Miss Universe 2014 pageant.
Elvira, the reigning Puteri East Java 2014, was crowned by out-going queen Miss Indonesia 2013 Wulandari Herman and the reigning Miss Universe 2013 Maria Gabriela Isler.
Acting as the jury for the contest were Fadli Zon (vice chairman of Gerindra political party), Titiek Soeharto (daughter of the late Soeharto, former president of Indonesia, and candidate of legislative member for Bantul region, Yogyakarta for 2014-2019 period), Johnny Dharmawan (president director of PT Toyota Astra Motor), and Suryo Bambang Sulistyo (chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, or Kadin).
Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo was invited to attend the contest but he did not come. Jokowi opted to focus on helping his people from the flood attack, instead of making love to Surakarta-born Mooryati Soedibyo, his strong supporter who is also owner of Mustika Ratu, the sponsor of Putri Indonesia contest.
