SINGAPORE (Yosefardi) – Drilling of the Zircon-1 exploration well in the Salawati Kepala Burung PSC, Papua, has reached a total depth of 1,525 meters.

“The well encountered oil shows during drilling in the Kais formation and was deepened from the original planned total vertical depth of 1205 meters to assess the deeper potential. Production testing will follow if log analysis confirms the presence of hydrocarbon zones,” said RH Petrogas today.

RH Petrogas has an aggregate 33.21% working interest in the block. The other partners are PetroChina (16.79%) and Pertamina Hulu Energi (50%).

RHP is listed on SGX with development and exploration blocks in Indonesia, China, and Malaysia.
