JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The House of Representative (DPR) Commission III holds on Wednesday (Jan. 14) a fit and proper test over Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, despite the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the sole candidate of the National Police Chief as a graft suspect.

The fit and proper test has been started at around 9:30 AM of Jakarta time at the parliament building in Senayan, Central Jakarta.

At the time of writing, Budi, in his speech, has still explained the case implicating him to the members of the House Commission III. Budi explained about suspicious transactions in his bank accounts as well as his wealth questioned by the KPK.

Budi, moreover, questioned KPK’s decision to name him as suspect while KPK has not yet summoned him for questioning.

As reported earlier, KPK Chief Abraham Samad announced in a press briefing on Tuesday that the KPK has named Budi Gunawan as suspect in the so-called fat bank account case.

Previously, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has nominated Budi as the sole candidate of Police Chief to the DPR on Friday (Jan. 9). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
