JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State’s shipping company PT Djakarta Llyod has filed settlement proposal to its creditors. The creditors will now decide whether the shipper could resume its business or go into bankruptcy.

Jamaslin James Purba, who handles the company’s Postponement of Deb Settlement Obligation (PKPU) process, revealed that Djakarta Lylod requested grace period for the settlement to the creditors, as the fund for the settlement will be likely sourced from the company.

Djakarta Lloyd is under PKPU status since July 9, 2013, after the commercial court granted Julia Tjndra’s petition. Tjandra claimed that Djakarta Lylod has JPY 400 million debt matured on Mar. 26, 1998. The debt is sourced from Medim Term Note signed in 1997.

Tjandra then filed PKPU petition and listed Jerry Farolan as another creditor of Djakarta Lloyd. Based on the documents, the company has 200 creditors with total claim reaching Rp1.2 trillion. The next creditor’s meeting is scheduled to be held this week. (indrab@yosefardi.biz)
