JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Jamaluddien Malik, Director General of Transmigration Area Development at the Ministry of Disadvantaged Regions, as graft suspect related to extortion practices at the Ministry during the period of 2013-2014 budget year.
KPK’s official Priharasa Nugraha explained that the KPK has earlier found two evidences before naming Jamaluddien as suspect in the case.
KPK charged Jamaluddin with Article 12 letter e and f and Article 23 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 421 juncto Article 55 Paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
KPK alleged Jamaluddin for committing extortion during the period of 2013-2014. At that time, the Directorate General of Transmigration Area Development led by Jamaluddin was still part of the Ministry of Manpower & Transmigration. Muhaimin Iskandar, Chairman of PKB, was the Minister of Manpower & Transmigration from 2010-2014 period under Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration.
Under the new administration of Jokowi-Kalla, the Directorate General of Transmigration Area Development is part of the Ministry of Disadvantaged Regions. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
