JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Police has asked the Immigration office to impose a ban to graft suspect and former Vice Minister of Law & Huma Rights Denny Indrayana from overseas travel.

Spokesperson of the National Police Sr. Comr. Rikwanto has confirmed the police request. Said request has been reportedly issued since Sunday (Mar. 29).

As reported earlier, the National Police’s Criminal Investigation (Bareskrim Polri) has named Denny, also a law expert from the Gadjah Mada University (UGM), as a graft suspect in a case related to the payment gateway system at the Law Ministry. The Bareskrim Polri earlier planned to charge Denny with Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 55 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).

Other than Denny, the Bareskrim Polri has also questioned a dozen witnesses, including former Minister of Law & Human Rights Amir Syamsuddin, also Chairman of Democratic Party Honorary Board.

Amir Syamsuddin and Denny Indrayana led the Ministry of Law & Human Rights from 2011 to 2014 under Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
