JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE’s) Dahlan Iskan has been questioned for eight hours on Thursday (June 4) related to further investigation into corruption case of the construction project of the Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara electricity stations during the period of 2011-2013.
The Head of the Jakarta High Prosecutor office Adi Toegarisman explained that Dahlan has been questioned as a witness in the case in the latter’s capacity as the authorized budget management (KPA).
Dahlan Iskan served as the CEO of the state electricity company PT PLN from Dec. 23, 2009, to Oct. 19, 2011. He then served as Minister of SOE’s from October 2011 to October 2014.
In this case, the Jakarta High Prosecutor office had previously named fifteen suspects. The dossiers of ten out of said fifteen suspects have been submitted to the South Jakarta District Court for trial.
All of fifteen suspects have been charged with Article 2 paragraph 1 juncto Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP). The suspects were also charged with Article 3 juncto Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 point 1 of the KUHP.
The construction of the Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara electricity stations itself has swallowed budget by more than Rp1 trillion. The State losses is estimated around Rp33.2 billion from this case. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
