JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Plantation shares ended mostly lower ground Friday (June 7th) even though crude palm oil (CPO) continued its rally in the futures market.
In Singapore, Wilmar International ended lower by 0.63%, while Bumitama lost 1% on thin trading volume. Golden Agri-Resources closed flat, while First Resources gained 0.82%.
In Jakarta, Bakrie Sumatra Plantations (UNSP) lost another 3.23% to Rp60, while Provident Agro lost 2.27%. BW Plantation was top loser, down 5.05%, while Astra Agro Lestari, the largest CPO producer on IDX, fell 3.9%.
The commodity’s August 2013 contracts, the current benchmark, advanced RM22 to RM2457 per ton, while September deliveries gained RM23 to RM2458 per ton on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives.
