KUALA LUMPUR (Yosefardi) – The benchmark July contracts of crude palm oil (CPO) increased to RM2154 this morning on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives.
The contracts until November 2015 were settled closed to RM2100 per ton, while first quarter 2016 contracts were closer to RM2,200/ton. As at end-March 2015, palm oil stocks in Malaysia stood at 1.87 million tons, up 10.5% year-on-year and 5.2% month-on-month.
Most plantation stocks listed at Kuala Lumpur stock exchange gained this morning. Felda Global Ventures gained 0.48%, Sime Darby rose 0.33%, and KL Kepong increased 0.54%. While IJM Plantation was flat.
In Jakarta, Astra Agro gained 1.6%, Eagle High Plantation climbed 1.2%, London Sumatra rose 2.17%, and Gozco Planations jumped 4.2%.
In Singapore, Golden Agri fell 1.2%, Wilmar International declined 1.2%, and First Resources lost 0.83%. Otherwise, Indofood Agri gained 0.7%.
