SYDNEY (Yosefardi) – Copper Energy is reprocessing 3,000 kilometers of 2D seismic data from Merangin III PSC, with the objective of maturing targets for seismic acquisition this year.

Merangin III PSC, awarded to Copper Energy in March 2013, is located within the central portion of the highly productive South Sumatra Basin and is considered by Cooper Energy to be very prospective for both oil and gas.

Copper Energy has reprocessed and interpretated the seismic of Merangin III PSC, which will followed by seismic acquisition in 2014 and drilling in 2015.

It had also acquired a 265 km 2D seismic survey in the Sumbangsel PSC, to delineate exploration targets for drilling this year, immediately following the Sukananti joint operation (KSO) development drilling program.

Copper Energy said workovers of Sukananti-1 and Tangai-3 are planned to be undertaken in the March quarter, with the aim of accessing bypassed oil zones in these suspended wells.

Planning continues for the drilling of 3 development wells, Bunian-3, Bunian-4, and Tangai-5, in the Sukananti KSO, commencing in the June quarter of 2014.
