JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The factions of political parties at the House of Representatives (DPR) have still divided over the proposal on increasing the so-called aspiration fund to Rp20 billion per lawmaker.

Nasdem and Hanura Party faction have expressed their rejections to the proposal. Both Nasdem and Hanura are members of the Great Indonesia ruling coalition (KIH).

But two other members of the KIH, PDI-P and PKB, supported the proposal. PDI-P is likely not yet solid in supporting the aspiration fund as its lawmakers, such as Effendi Simbolon, even rejected the fund.

Apart from the KIH, members of the Red-and-White opposition group (KMP) also expressed their supports to the proposal on increasing the so-called aspiration fund. They are Gerindra, PKS, and PAN.

While two other factions, Golkar and PPP, also supported the proposal. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
