JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Riefan Avrian, the eldest son of Syarief Hasan (former Minister of Cooperatives and Small-Medium Enterprises and Daily Executive Chairman of President SBY’s Democratic Party), confessed to the trial as he also controls PT Imaji Media, the tender winner of the Rp23.4 billion videotron procurement project, Detik.com reported.
“Imaji (PT Imaji Media) is controlled by me, so it was me who conducted (the videotron procurement) project,” Riefan testified to the trial held at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday (Nov. 27).
Riefan also confessed that he ordered his office boy, Hendra Saputra, now a graft convict in the case, to sign the contract of the videotron procurement project between PT Imaji Media and the Cooperatives and Small-Medium Enterprises Ministry (KUKM), at that time led by his father.
As reported earlier, Riefan has been named as suspect on May 16. Three other suspects in the case are Hasnawi Bachtiar (an official at KUKM Ministry), Hendra Saputra (an office boy whose name was listed as Director of PT Imaji Media), and Kasiyadi (a member of the tender committee).
KPK charged Riefan with Article 2 Paragraph 1 or Article 3 juncto Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law. KPK estimated that State suffered Rp5.3 billion from the project.
Hendra Saputra, meanwhile, has been sentenced to one year in prison. He has been also ordered to pay Rp50 million in fine. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
