JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central bank, Bank Indonesia (BI), reported national commercial banks’ credit grew by 20-21% in first quarter of this year (year on year), with 19.9% growth in February 2014.
For this year, BI predicts bank’s credit to grow by 15-17%. In March 2014, banks’ credit grew by 22.12% to Rp2,787 trillion. While net performing loan (NPL) almost reached 3%.
BI also maintained its benchmark BI rate at 7.5%, for six consecutive months. The rate of lending and deposit facility is also maintained at 7.5% and 5.75% respectively.
