Nusadua (Yosefardi) – The government might harmonize coal royalty at 13.5 percent to all producers.

“we have yet to set the tariff, but might be similar (with coal contract of work),” said Thamrin Sihite, director general of coal and mineral after opening ceremony of the 19th Coaltrans Asia this morning.

As reported earlier, the Fiscal Policy Board (BKF) proposes harmonization of coal royalty between CCOWs and mining business license (IUPs). Coal producers under IUP regime currently pay royalty between 3 and 7 percent.

In the meantime, energy and mineral resources minister Jero Wacik admitted some companies yet to pay royalty properly. The minister, however, declined to mention individual names.
