HONG KONG (Indonesia Today) – China Resources Power Holdings Company Ltd, which operates 35 coal-fired power plants in China, booked net profit of HK$3 billion in the first half of 2012, representing a 21% growth over the same period last year.
China Resources Power, which also operates 22 wind farms, reported HK$30.9 billion of turnover, increased slightly from HK$29 billion in the first half of 2011.
“The easing of supply and demand of coal and the decrease in spot coal prices enabled us to control fuel costs,” the company argued.
The group produced 5.57 million tons of raw coal in the first half, down 16.8% from the same period of 2011. But, combined with the production of its associate coal mines, China Resources Power produced a total of 8.6 million tons of raw coal in the period, representing an increase of 11% compared with the same period of 2011.
