JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The government of Guangxi province, China, through its company, will lead a consortium to invest US$1-2 billion, first phase investment, on aluminium cluster project in Kalimantan.

The consortium will build aluminium smelter with capacity of 200-300 thousand tons per year. The feasibility study is now on going, while the realization of the project is expected for next 2-3 years. The consortium will also build port and power plant to support this project.

This consortium is also now developing 1,000 hectares industrial area in Bekasi, West Java, to serve automotive components sector.
