JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – China Minsheng Investment Corporation Limited (CMI) plans to build steel factory in Indonesia with investment cost of US$1.6 billion this year.

Within next few years, CMI targets to invest US$5 billion in Indonesia. It will also invest in port projects, coal and cement industry.

The steel factory will have capacity of 6 million tons per annum. Indonesia now becomes the beloved investment country as it has huge potential of natural resources and human capital with over 240 million population.

Foreign direct investment in Indonesia reached US$6.8 billion in the first quarter of this year while total investment reached US$16 billion for the period.
