JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) has appointed Coordinating Minister for Economy Chairul Tanjung as Ad Interim Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) replacing Jero Wacik.
Jero has just tendered his resignation from the cabinet after being named as graft suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The appointment of the owner of the CT Corp as ESDM Ad Interim Minister was confirmed by President SBY’s Spokesperson Julian Aldrin Pasha.
Born in Jakarta, on June 16, 1962, Chairul earlier replaced Hatta Rajasa as Coordinating Minister for the Economy in May 2014. At that time, he served as Chairman of the National Economy Committee (KEN).
Chairul now holds two strategic positions in the cabinet until SBY’s administration ends on OctOBER 20, 2014. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
