JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Domestic cement sales reached 5.6 million tons in September 2014, jumped 21% from 4.6 million tons in August 2014. Compared to September 2013, the figure rose 5.7%, mainly supported by the government’s infrastructure projects.

Cement sales in Sumatra increased 12.3% to 1,183 million tons, compared to September 2013, followed by Java which rose 4.2% to 3,257 million tons. While cement sales in Kalimantan declined 0.7% to 0.381 million tons and cement sales in Sulawesi grew by 15.7% to 0.44 million tons. Also, cement sales in Bali and Nusa Tenggara dropped 13% to 0.269 million tons.

For this year, national cement sales is expected to grow by 4-5%. For January- September 2014 period, national cement sales reaches 42.9 million tons, a 3.4% rise compared to the same period of 2013.
