JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Domestic cement sales reached 54.55 million tons in January-November 2014 period, grew by 3.47% from 52.72 million tons in the same period of 2013. Cement sales in January-November 2012 was 49.85 million tons.
Sales to Java island reached 30.8 million tons, grew by 3.84% from 29.66 million tons in previous year. Followed by Sumatra island with 11.36 million tons, up 2.52% from 11.08 million tons in January-November 2013 period.
Cement sales to Kalimantan island increased 2% to 4.06 million tons from earlier 3.98 million tons. Cement demand from Sulawesi also rose 5.68% to 4.09 million tons. Cement sales to Bali and Nusa Tenggara grew by 6.6% to 3.05 million tons.
Cement sales to Maluku and Papua increased 4.58% to 1.14 million tons. For this year, national cement sales is expected to grow by 4-5%.
