JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Domestic cement sales dropped by 32.5% to 3.3 million tons in August 2013, from 5 million tons in July 2013. Compared to August 2012, cement sales fell 5.3%. While cement export declined 19% to 95,000 tons from previous 117,000 tons.
Year to date, cement sales increased 5.7% to 36.2 million tons, from 34.3 million tons in the same period of last year.
Semen Indonesia holds 44% market share, followed by Indocement 30% and Holcim Indonesia 15%, and others 11%.
Cement consumption is targeted to grow by 8% to 60 million tons this year, compared to 54.9 million tons in 2012.
