YOGYAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Cebongan prison murder incident finally has entered the final chapter. Yogyakarta Military Court found 2nd Sgt Ucok Tigor Simbolon is guilty for murders of four people in the prison and sentenced him with 11 years imprisonment.
On the verdict trial held on Sep. 5, 2013, the court also sentenced 2nd Sgt Sugeng Sumaryanto 1 Corporal Kodik with eight and six years imprisonment respectively. Three of them were proven guilty of violating article 340 of penal code.
Presiding Judge Joko Sasmito stated that the convicts’ admittance on their crime and well behavior during trial process benefitted them as the court gave the lighter sentence.
As reported earlier, the twelve Kopassus soldiers had been detained after proven as actors behind the murder of four prisoners at Cebongan Prison in Sleman, Yogyakarta, in March 23, 2013. The incident was a respond for the murder of the soldiers subordinate in a nightclub. (indrab@yosefardi.biz)
