JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – National car sales totaled 97,794 units in August 2014, jumped 25% from 77,964 units in August 2013, supported by low cost cars and new products launched.
Compared to July 2014, national car sales grew by 7%. In July 2014, the country’s car sales reached 91,393 units.
Year to date, Toyota sold 284,263 units of cars last month or 34.18% of total market, followed by Daihatsu 126,165 units (15.17%), Honda 110,457 units (13.28%), Suzuki 105,705 units (12.71%), and Mitsubishi 96,626 units (11.62%).
Nissan sold 24,782 units, Isuzu sold 18,741 units while Mazda sold 6,205 units.
The Association of Indonesia Automotive Industry (Gaikindo) expects national car sales to reach 1.2 million units this year, equal to last year.
