JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – National car sales totaled 96,149 units in January 2015, grew by 22% from 78,802 units in December 2014. But compared to January 2014 sales (103,609 units), the figure declined 7.2%
The car sales declined in November-December 2014 following the 31% fuel price hike. But the cut in fuel price in January has attracted back people’s appetite to buy new cars.
Toyota sold 27,175 units last month, followed by Honda 16,855 units, Daihatsu 14,536 units, Suzuki 12,683 units, Mitsubishi 11,365 units.
National car sales is targeted to reach 1.2 million units this year along with 5.4-5.8% grwoth for the national economy.
