JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The business players will launch the judicial review to the Supreme Court when the government of Indonesia decides to raise electricity price for large-scale industry.
The government of Indonesia plans to raise electricity prices by 38.9% to 64.7% for large-scale industry sector, effective on May 1, 2014.
Franky Sibarani, chairman of National Association Communication Forum, said the hike of electricity price will significantly impact on the industry performance and many companies might close their operations.
The price increase for electricity will be made gradually this year. After May 1, the next hike will take place on July 1, September 1, and November 1. The business players have demanded the government to raise electricity price by gradually within next 2-3 years.
