JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Giant coal miner PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) plans to cut its debt by US$1-2 billion next year, while to optimize sales and cost efficiency.

By March of this year, BUMI’s liability totaled US$6.82 billion, declined 6.75% from US$7.3 billion by end of last year.

BUMI has no plan for acquisition, instead of builing a strategic cooperation with other parties.

BUMI targets to produce 80-90 million tons of coal this year, compared to 80 million tons produced last year. BUMI projects to produce 100 million tons of coal next year.
