JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) targets to sell 24.7 million tons of coal this year, a 38% growth compared to 17.8 million tons last year.

The company targets its coal export to increase 40% to 13.5 million tons this year, compared to 9.6 million tons last year. The export is expected to contribute 55% to total coal sales volume this year.

PTBA allocates capital expenditure (capex) of Rp2.5-3 trillion for this year. It also plans to build PLTU with capacity of 2×110 megawatts in Banjarsari, Lahat, South Sumatra.

The company is seeking US$1.2 billion loan, equivalent Rp14.16 trillion, to fund its mine mouth coal-fired power plant (PLTU) with capacity of 2×620 megawatts in Bangko Tengah, Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra. The project is expected to cost US$1.59 billion. The PLTU is built by PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power, a joint venture (JV) with China Huadian Hongkong Company Limited. The construction of power plant will start this year.
