JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Panel of judges at the Ketapang District Court in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, has sentenced Businessman Budiono Tan, owner of Benua Indah Group, two years in jail for forgery and fraud case. The verdict is similar with the demand from the prosecutor team.
In addition, panel of judges presided by Achmad Rifai also ordered Budiono to return 1,532 certificates and Rp7 billion cash money to plasma farmers.
According to panel of judges, Budiono is proven guilty for violating Article 372 juncto Article 64 of the Criminal Code (KUHP). Around 200 plasma farmers attended the verdict trial.
Budiono has been named suspect since 2009 for forgery and fraud accused by plasma farmers at Benua Indah Group’s plantation. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
