JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Police Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, graft suspect, will refuse to answer the summon from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for questioning on Friday (Jan. 30) related to the graft case implicating the Police Chief nominee.
Budi Gunawan’s lawyer, Razman Arief Nasution, confirmed the refusal to journalists on Thursday night.
Razman said his client has three arguments to refuse the KPK’s summon. He said his client had never received official letters from KPK in naming Budi Gunawan as a graft suspect.
Other than that, Razman said his client is still waiting to the pre-trial verdict submitted by his client against KPKs decision.
As reported earlier, KPK is scheduled today to question Budi Gunawan as a graft suspect in a case related to suspected transactions found in his bank accounts.
KPK had earlier summoned six high-ranking police officers as witnesses in this case for twice. But unfortunately, only one police officer answered KPK’s summon. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
