JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State-owned PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Tbk (BBRI) plans to seek new loan of US$300 million and targets to obtain at end of this year, to support the business expansion.

The bank’s debts scheduled to mature this year amount US$200-300 million. By end March this year, BRI’s liability totaled Rp536.63 trillion while assets reached Rp615.72 trillion.

BRI booked profit after tax of Rp5.94 trillion in first quarter of this year, grew by 16.7% from Rp5.086 trillion in the same period of last year. Interest income increased 30.8% to Rp17.09 trillion from previous Rp13.35 trillion.
