At that price, BRI has market capitalization of Rp196.1 trillion or about US$20.4 billion, fifth largest company on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) behind Astra International, HM Sampoerna, Bank Central Asia, and Bank Mandiri.
BRI shares gained substantially this year by around 14%, higher than Bank Mandiri (+6.2%) and Telkom (+6.1%).
BRI is the second largest bank in Indonesia by total assets behind Bank Mandiri, ahead of Bank Central Asia (BCA).
The bank had total assets and equity of Rp482.8 trillion and Rp59.86 trillion respectively as of September 30, 2012. The bank booked net profit of Rp13.17 trillion in nine months of 2012, jumped from Rp10.43 trillion in the corresponding period of 2011. (Indonesia Today)
