JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Bosowa Corporindo will buy minimum 1.03 billion shares of PT Bank Bukopin Tbk (BBKP), or 30% of the bank’s enlarged capital, to become controlling shareholder in the bank.

Now Bosowa holds 18.57%. Bosowa will buy 1.03 billion shares from Kopelindo which now holds 29.52% shares. Other shareholders are the government of Indonesia (11.43%), and public investors (40.48%).

Bank Bukopin booked profit after tax of Rp741 billion in 2013, declined 11.2% from Rp839 billion in 2012. Net interest income fell 14.6% to Rp2.1 trillion from previous Rp2.46 trillion.

Its assets totaled Rp57.18 trillion of which credits amounted Rp39.85 trillion. Third party funds reached Rp47.93 trillion.
