BOJONEGORO (Yosefardi) – Tens of residents from Ngampel Village, Kapas sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency in East Java set a blockade in front of drilling location of PetroChina-Pertamina joint operating body (JOB) in the area.
Protesters, led by village head Pudjianto, said residents were upset by PetroChina’s treatment.
“We decided to block (the operation) even if we have to face authorities, because PetroChina never considered our complaints,” said Pudjianto as reported by Detik.com Sunday (September 1st).
Ngampel Village, he said, has demanded monthly compensation of payment worth Rp25 million during the operation of drilling rig. PetroChina, Pudjianto said, has promised to deliver the payment one week before Lebaran (end of fasting month of Ramadhan), but no payment has been made until now.
