JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Sutan Bhatoegana Siregar, graft suspect and politician from SBY’s Democratic Party, finally attended his first trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday (Apr. 16), as he is charged for receiving bribe money from various parties, including his party fellow Jero Wacik, former Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM).
According to the KPK’s indictment against Bhatoegana, KPK’s prosecutor team says Jero Wacik delivered Rp50 million to Bhatoegana at the office of the ESDM Ministry through Waryono Karno and his staff, Didi Dwi Sutrisnohadi. Waryono, former secretary general of the ESDM Ministry, is also a graft suspect in a separate case.
KPK’s prosecutor team also revealed that Bhatoegana also received another US$140 thousand from Waryono through Bhatoegana’s special staff, Iryanto Muchyi. A that time, Bhatoegana served as the head of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VII, overseeing energy & mineral resources affairs.
Other than that, Bhatoegana also charged for receiving a Toyota Alphard car from director PT Dara Trasindo Eltra (DTE) Yan Achmad Suep and US$200 thousand cash money from Rudi Rubiandini, former SKK Migas chief.
KPK then charged Bhatoegana with Article 12 letter b or Article 12B or Article 11 of the Anti-Corruption Law. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
