JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Sutan Bhatoegana Siregar, graft suspect and politician from SBY’s Democratic Party, has been moved from Salemba detention center to the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) detention center.

Bhatoegana’s lawyer Rahmat Harahap revealed his client has refused the movement but KPK remain took his client to the new detention center. According to Rahmat, his client has also refused to sign the letter regarding KPK’s decision to raise the legal status of Bhatoegana’s case into prosecution level.

KPK’s Spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha, however, said KPK will continue to prosecute Bhatoegana since the dossier is complete. He said KPK will bring Bhatoegana to the court trial within the next fourteen days.

Bhatoegana has been named as graft suspect since May. 14, 2014. According to KPK’s minutes of investigation (BAP) on the former SKK Migas Head Rudi Rubiandini dated Sep. 4, 2013, Rudi said he was delivered US$200,000 to Bhatoegana through Tri Yulianto, another Democratic Party lawmaker, in July 2013.

The former Head of the House Commission VII (overseeing energy & mineral resources affairs) then delivered the money known as as the so-called holiday bonuses (THR) to other leaders and members of the House Commission VII.

Latest, Bhatoegana has filed a pre-trial petition against KPK’s decision on naming him as graft suspect. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
