JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Coal producer PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk (BRAU) will focus on cost efficiency next year. It will renegotiate with mining contractors, renegotiate the fuel purchase, and reduce the vehicles usage.
For the first nine months of 2014, BRAU’s unit cash costs reached US$37.2 per ton, compared to US$38.4 in the corresponding period of 2013.
BRAU produced 6.5 million tons of coal in the period, grew by 6.5% from 6.1 million tons in first nine months of 2013. In 2013, its coal production totaled 23.5 tons.
