JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Governor of Bengkulu Junaidi Hamsyah has failed to fulfill a call from the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim Polri) for a questioning session on Monday (July 27).
Junaidi’s lawyer Muspani, however, said his client promised to fulfill the next call of the Bareskrim Polri.
Junaidi has been named as suspect of corruption allegation in the honorarium payment of the Advisory Team at the M Yunus regional hospital that caused Rp5.4 billion of state loses.
At the heart of this case is the issuance of a governor letter (SK) No. Z.17 XXXVIII/2011 regarding the Advisory Team for the Management of the M Yunus Regional Hospital that comprises of 20 members.
Said governor letter is allegedly violating the Home Minister Regulation No. 61/2007 as the regulation didn’t stipulate an advisory team for the provincial public service agency (BLUD), including regional hospital.
Junaidi Hamsyah led the Bengkulu province since December 2012 after the Supreme Court (MA) sentenced Agusrin Najamuddin to four years in prison.
Previously, Agusrin and Junaidi won 2010 Bengkulu gubernatorial election with support of the Democratic Party and PAN. He is now seeking for his second term as Bengkulu Governor in the 2015 simultaneous regional elections. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
