JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has examined Governor of Gorontalo Rusli Habibie on Monday (Jan. 19) related to further investigation into a graft case of the 2011 medical equipment procurement project at Gorontalo Utara regency, Detik.com reported.

After the Monday’s questioning, the Chairman of Golkar Party’s Gorontalo chapter told to journalists that he was questioned as a witness for former Head of Gorontalo Utara’s Health office, one of suspects in the case.

Rusli Habibie, who is also nephew of former President BJ Habibie, however, was reluctant to give more comment.

Sr. Comr. Yudhiawan from the Bareskrim Polri, meanwhile, revealed that the police has named five suspects in the case.

Back in 2011, the medical equipment procurement project for the Gorontalo Utara’s Regional Hospital was conducted during Rusli Habibie’s term as Gorontalo Utara Regent. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
