JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) allocates fund of Rp2 trillion for acquiring life insurer PT Asuransi Jiwa InHealth. This month the bank will divest its health insurance unit PT Asuransi Kesehatan (Askes).
Bank Mandiri now has 2 insurance companies; PT MandiriAxa General Insurance and PT AXAMandiri Financial Service. Other state companies also interested to acquire Inhealth are Kimia Farma, Jasindo, and Jamsostek.
InHealth booked premium income of Rp1.2 trillion in 2012, grew by 12% from 2011. Its assets totaled Rp1.5 trillion and booked net profit of Rp100 billion.
