Golkar Postpones Leadership Meeting

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Golkar Party postpones its national leadership meeting (Rapimnas) to November 2013 due to accommodation issue. Nurul Arifin, Secretary General Deputy of Golkar Party, revealed that the Rapimnas will be held November 20th at the latest. “We limit that Rapimnas should be held before November 20th,” said the former actress. Akil’s Driver Key Witness on Case

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) failed to examine Daryono, driver of disgraced The Constitutional Court Aki Mochtar, as Daryono did not came into summon on Oct. 8, 2013. Daryono is tipped as a key witness on the case. Previously KPK investigation team found a new Mercedes Benz S350 in Akil’s house registered under Daryono’s name. KPK then summoned Daryono, but he failed two show up in two examinations scheduled by the anti graft commission. Member of the court’s honorary council Abbas Said highlighted the importance to seek clarification from the driver. Abbas also said his council has no authority to summon Daryono for ethical violation hearing. KPK on October 3, has named Akil as suspect in graft cases related in the handling of post elections disputes of Gunung Mas regency (Central Kalimantan) and Lebak regency (Banten). BNN: No Drugs on Akil’s Body

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The anti narcotics bureau BNN declares no drugs contaminated on body of graft suspect and suspended chief of The Constitutional Court Akil Mochtar. In a press conference, BNN Public Relation Head Sumirat revealed that the laboratory examination of Akil’s urine and hair sample showed negative result. “There are no drugs in urine and hair,” said Sumirat on Oct.8, 2013. However, Sumirat ensured that his institution will hold further examination and track down the source of the drugs, including questioning Akil himself. Djakarta Lylod Waits for Creditor’s Decision

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State’s shipping company PT Djakarta Llyod has filed settlement proposal to its creditors. The creditors will now decide whether the shipper could resume its business or go into bankruptcy. Jamaslin James Purba, who handles the company’s Postponement of Deb Settlement Obligation (PKPU) process, revealed that Djakarta Lylod requested grace period for the settlement to the creditors, as the fund for the settlement will be likely sourced from the company. Djakarta Lloyd is under PKPU status since July 9, 2013, after the commercial court granted Julia Tjndra’s petition. Tjandra claimed that Djakarta Lylod has JPY 400 million debt matured on Mar. 26, 1998. The debt is sourced from Medim Term Note signed in 1997. Tjandra then filed PKPU petition and listed Jerry Farolan as another creditor of Djakarta Lloyd. Based on the documents, the company has 200 creditors with total claim reaching Rp1.2 trillion. Supreme Court Cuts Munir’s Murder Jail Term

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Pollycarpus Priyanto, convicted murder of human right activist Munir Said Thalib, got 6 years jail sentence reduction to 14 years. The Supreme Court granted its judicial review on Oct. 2, 2013. Panel of the judges for the judicial review were Sofyan Sitompul, Dudu Duswara, Machmuddin, Salaman Lutan, Sri Murwahyuni dan Zahruddin Utama. This is the second judicial review on the case as previously the Supreme Court granted the Attorney General Office’s (AGO) request to give him 20 years prison time.
