Fathanah Faces 17.5 Years Prison Charge

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Ahmad Fathanah, graft defendant on beef import quota case, is facing 17.5 years jail time on bribery and money laundering cases. Prosecutor from the anti graft commission KPK considered Fathanah is guilty of receiving Rp1.3 billion bribe from PT Indoguna Utama. The bribe was given to “taking care” the beef import quota manipulation along with former chairman of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq. Fathanah and Luthfi then successfully predisposed Minister of Agriculture Suswono and Director General of Livestock and Veterinary Herman Syukur Iswantoro. Fathanah was charged with article 12 a of Corruption Law. Fathanah is also facing money laundering charges as regulated on the article 5 and article 3 of Law No 8/2010 regarding Money Laundering. PKS Patron shows up in Court

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Hilmi Aminuddin, patron leader of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), shows up in the Corruption Court Monday (Oct. 21). He is scheduled to testify for the graft defendant and PKS suspended chairman Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq. Hilmi’s testimony is considered as one of the key testimony in this case. Minister Roy Expects No Political Interest on National Team

KPK Detains Andi Mallarangeng

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – After series of examinations, the anti graft commission KPK detained former Minister of Youth and Sports Andi Alfian Mallarangeng. On Oct. 17, 2013, Andi is brought to KPK detention center as suspect of Hambalang sports center project. KPK spokeperson Johan Budi stated Andi is detained for 20 days. “I wish I can be revealed. BRI Faces Rp210 Billion Default Lawsuit

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State-owned bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) is currently facing a lawsuit for default allegation in Central Jakarta District Court. The lawsuit was filed by PT Riau Agro Mandiri. The livestock producer claimed that it has suffered substantial loss caused by BRI’s default. Riau Agro seeks for Rp7.66 billion compensation for material loss and Rp210.27 billion for immaterial loss. Both parties had in 2007 signed credit facility agreement.
