Quick Count Shows Awang Faroek Leads East Kalimantan Governorship

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Awang Faroek and his running mate Mukmin Faisyal is likely to be named as the new governor and vice governor of East Kalimantan Regency. Survey from Citra Publik Indonesia (CPI) and Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) shows the pair leading with 42.49% votes. Imdaad Hamid and his running mate Ipong Muchlissoni and Farid Wadjdy – Aji Sofyan pairs trailed in the second and third place with 36.73% and 20.78% votes each. Awang Faroek and Mukmin Faisyal is endorsed by 11 political parties, among others are Golkar Party, Demokrat Party and National Mandate Party (PAN). Farid Wadjdy and his running mate Aji Sofyan is endorsed by Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and United Development Party (PPP). While Imdaad Hamid and Ipong Muchlisoni is the independent candidate. Pertamina Fails on Land Dispute

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina has to hand over a 22,305 m2 land to Ivone Felicia Intan as the Supreme Court declined its cassation. According to the Supreme Judges, the oil company has failed to submit sufficient evidence to support its claims, among others that the filing of lawsuit has been expired from its dateline. Pertamina, on its claim, said that Ivone did not have a legal standing to claim the land. On the verdict trial, the judges also declared that Head of the Central Jakarta Land Office has wrongly issued the land certificate for Pertamina. “The decision letter of the disputed land was issued with a wrong material substance and judicial procedure,” said Supreme Judges Marina Sidabutar. With the Supreme Court’s verdict issued on Jun. 25, 2013, Pertamina should hand over ther land ownership to Ivone. Ivone previously filed a lawsuit to the Central Jakarta Administrative Court. Ivone, claimed as the beneficiary of Raden Harsa Nata Sastra Nagara Djajadiningrat, stated that Pertamina had illegally taken over 22,305 m2 land in Gambir, Central Jakarta. Creditors Turn Down Dayaindo’s Settlement Proposal

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Troubled mining company PT Dayaindo Resources International Tbk might propose another settlement proposal to the creditors on Sep. 16, 2013 as its creditors had rejected its debt settlement proposal. The creditors view that Dayaindo has failed to submit a realistic proposal to settle the debt. Dayaindo might submit the revised proposal ahead of the voting process scheduled for September 20, 2013. Djawoto Juwono, Dayaindo’s bankruptcy creditors, revealed that if the votes rejected again Dayaindo’s proposal, then the company will be declared insolvent. Dayaindo and its subsidiary PT Daya Mandiri Resources was declared bankrupt by Central Jakarta Commercial Court on July 17, 2013. KPPU Clears AKRA’s Acquisition over Jabal Nor

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) supports the acquisition over Jabal Nor shares by PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA) as it did not violate business monopoly regulation. According to KPPU, the assessment report shows that the corporate action contains no aspect of monopoly or unfair business practice. KPPU’s assessment was made as follow up of notification filed by AKR on Jan. 4, 2013. Previously AKR increased its ownership in Jabal Nor from 33.5% to 59.4%. The share purchase was made through its subsidiary, PT Anugrah Karya Raya, at total value of Rp24.29 billion. Jabal Nor is a company engaged on infrastructure facilities for mining companies.
