Iriana Widodo to Open Woman International Club Charity Bazaar

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Indonesian First Lady Iriana Widodo is scheduled to launch the 47th charity bazaar of the Jakarta Woman International Club (WIC) in the Hall B of the Jakarta Convention Center at 10 A.M today (Nov. 19). The WIC charity bazaar event is held for two days, November 19-20. However it needs to be noted that the Nov. 19, the charity bazaar is only for the invitation while Nov. 20 is for the public. According to the official website of Jakarta WIC, the participants of the 47th WIC charity bazaar include 48 foreign embassies for Indonesia and more than 200 local vendors. They are selling a huge variety of products, ranging from handicraft, jewellery clothing, decorative items, foods and also wine. Pluit Reservoir Project Nominated for 2014 Guangzhou Award

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Reservoir revitalization project in Pluit, North Jakarta, has been short-listed as one of the nomination of 2014 Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Award, which is held by United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), World Association of Major Metropolises and also Guangzhou Municipal Government. According the official website of Guangzhou Award, the assessment of jury stated that the revitalization is seen as a way to address climate change in a social conscious way, which include the government partnership with a corporate sector that is expected to benefit in new and less threatened property development. Until today, Jakarta has received up to 12.21% of online votes from website visitors. Other than Jakarta, the jury also shortlisted other 14 cities from 14 countries including Dakar of Senegal with its municipal finance program; Eskishir of Turkey with its memory museum program; Hamburg of Germany with its socially inclusive zero carbon neighborhood transformation program; and also Melbourne of Australia with its green infrastructure program. Two Victims of Hong Hong Murder Flown to Indonesia

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The bodies of two Indonesian women, the victim of murder in Hong Kong, are scheduled to be flown to Indonesia today (Nov. 11). A British national, identified as Rurik Jutting, 29, is accused to have brutally murdered Seneng Mujiasih, 29, and Sumarti Ningsih, 23. The bodies of Seneng and Sumarti were found by police in a luxurious apartment in Wanchai District, Hong Kong after Jutting called police by himself on Saturday (Nov. 1). Seneng and Sumarti are known to be Indonesian migrant worker but both are not listed as an Indonesian migrant workers at the Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI). Meanwhile Jutting is known to be the former of securities trader at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch, who was also working for Barclays in London for two years. On Monday (Nov. 10), Jutting appeared in a Hong Kong court. However his case is adjourned for two weeks while waiting for his psychiatric report. Jutting is currently under police custody and will appear in the Hong Kong court on 24 Nov. Despite the bodies of 2 victims of murder have been returned to the family in Indonesia, the Indonesia government will follow up the case to get the justice for their family....

President Jokowi Awards National Hero Title to Four Figures

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – To celebrate the Indonesian national hero day (November 10), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has on Friday (November 7) awarded “national hero” title to four Indonesian national figures in Presidential Palace. That four figures receiving the National Hero title are Djamin Ginting, Abdul Wahab Chasbullah, Mohammad Mangoendriprojo and Sukarni Kartodiwirjo.
