JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed on Tuesday (September 1) that August 2015 inflation was 0.39%, compared to 0.93% in July 2015.
Off 82 cities, 59 cities recorded inflation, highest occurred in Tanjung Pandan (2.29%) and the lowest occurred in Sumenep, Kediri, Probolinggo (0.02%). Meanwhile 23 cities recorded deflation, the highest occured in Ambon (1.77%), and the lowest accoured in Sengkawang (0.01%).
The inflation in August 2015 was contributed by staple food (0.91%), processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.71%), housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel (0.16%), clothing (0.01%), health (0.7%), and education, recreation, and sport (1.72%). While transportation, communication, finance services recorded 1.74% deflatin.
Year to date inflation was 2.29% while year on year inflation was 7.18%.
