JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Indonesia’ export value reached US$14.48 billion in August 2014, grew by 2.48% from US$14.18 billion in July 2014. Compared to August 2013, the figure rose 10.63%.
Non oil and gas export increased 2.14% to US$11.88 billion from US$11.63 billion in previous month. Compared to August 2013, the figure rose 14.61%.
Export non oil and gas to United States reached US$1.27 billion, followed by Japan US$1.21 billion, and India US$1.15 billion. Export to European Union totaled US$1.55 billion.
For January-August 2014 period, the export totaled US$117.42 billion, declined 1.52% from the same period of 2013. Non oil and gas export also fell 1.29% to US$96.64 billion.
While Indonesia’s import value reached US$14.79 billion in August 2014, up 5.05% from previous month. Compared to July 2013, the figure grew by 13.69%.
Import of non oil and gas reached US$11.39 billion, up 14.99% from US$14.05 billion in July 2014. Compared to August 2013, the figure jumped 21.99%.
The Indonesia then posted trade deficit of US$318 million in August 2014, compared to US$42 million surplus in July 2014.
