JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Investors focused buying shares of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) Tuesday as investors welcomed the positive growth of Astra’s car sales in September 2015.
ASII jumped 11.27% to close at Rp5925 today with value of Rp392.92 billion. On Monday (Oct. 5), ASII was the biggest loser at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), as the stock lost 28.3% year to date.
ASII has not released yet the car sales figure for last month, but one company’s official told Yosefardi News that Astra recorded higher growth in car sales for September, extending August 2015 sales growth.
In August 2015, Astra’s car sales reached 48,949 units, surged 112% from 23,110 unit in July 2015. National cars sales also rose 62.8% to 90,534 units in August 2015, from 55,615 units in July 2015. For January-September 2015 period, Astra’s car sales reached 336,808 units.
At Monday (Oct. 5), Astra ranked 5th for the biggest stocks at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), in terms of market capitalization. Astra’s market capitalization reached Rp216 trillion.
Bank Central Asia was the largest stock with market capitalization of Rp306 trillion, followed by Unilever Indonesia (Rp298 trillion), Telkom (Rp274 trillion), and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (+223 trillion).
