JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Asian stock markets ended mostly higher Thursday (August 8) except Nikkei 225, which fell further by 1.6%, and Shanghai composite, which slipped 0.09%.
Australia’s All Ordinaries recovered 1%, while S&P BSE Sensex gained 0.67%. Hang Seng index also gained 0.31%, while KOSPI advanced 0.3%.
Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore were off for holidays. FTSE 100, meanwhile, gained 0.4%.
On Wednesday, Nikkei 225 lost 4%, while additional correction of 1.59% sent the index to 13,605. The index has dropped substantially from as high as 15,942, but still gaining substantially from below 9,000 in November 2012.
