JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Asian stocks opened mostly in narrow range Wednesday (October 16). Nikkei 225 down 0.11%, while KOSPI composite inched up 0.04%.
Australia’s All Ordinaries gained 0.08%, while Singapore’s STI advanced 0.46%. FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI also gained 0.5%.
Miners lifted All Ordinaries as both BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto gained 1.2% and 1.4% respectively. Commodities were mixed in Singapore as Wilmar gained 1.85%, while Golden Agri and Indofood Agri down 0.95% and 0.62% respectively.
On Tuesday, Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) ended lower by 0.87% to 15168, while Nasdaq composite lost 0.56%.
Nymex crude oil inched up 0.06% to US$101.27 per barrel in Asian trading Wednesday, while gold advanced 0.24% to US$1276 per ounce.
