JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Asahimas Chemical, chemical producer from Japan, plans to expand its processing plant in Cilegon, Banten province.
Eddy Sutanto, director of Asahimas Chemical, said the company will invest US$300-400 million for the project. The company needs to expand its capacity for fulfilling basic chemicals products for many downstream industries, both for domestic and export.
Currently, the company’s plant capacity in Cilegon reaches 500,000 tons of caustic soda per year, to boost to 600,000 to 700,000 tons.
